An Evesham dramatic society took home a prestigious award for a recent production.

The Evesham Operatic and Dramatic Society (EODS) scooped up the accolade last week, winning the Best Concert award from the National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA) West Midlands Region's District 5.

This was for their May 2023 show, 'Broadway and Beyond'.

The award marked back-to-back successes for the group, with the production directed by former member and professional actor Daniel Callaghan.

The EODS are particularly pleased to have been recognised for a show that gave a platform to new and emerging talent.

Moving forward, the EODS has begun rehearsals for its upcoming May production, 'Funny Girl'.

The show, familiar to many from the 1968 film starring Barbra Streisand, tells the tale of Fanny Brice, a distinctive performer who achieves fame in the Ziegfeld Follies.

The production will run from Tuesday 14 to Saturday, May 18, at The Henrician in Evesham, with evening performances beginning at 7.30pm, and an additional Saturday matinee at 2.30pm.

Tickets, priced at £16 (£14 for concessions and groups of 8 or more), are available at www.henrician.org.
