ELDERLY residents "haven't been able to sleep" after outbuildings thefts on a residential road in Evesham.

West Mercia Police received calls regarding a shed and a garage that had been broken into on Leicester Grove, with tools and food items being stolen.

The break-in was in the early hours of the morning on Sunday, July 16, and food items and tools were stolen.

A resident affected by the thefts, who wished to remain anonymous, said that their shed was trashed by the thieves.

They said: "A string of houses on Leicester Grove were broken into on Saturday night, including ours and our neighbours.

"Luckily we don’t hold anything of too much value in our shed, but they decided to trash it inside and steal my mother's cigarettes and some food we stored there.

"After it happened we invested in new locks to secure the area."

The resident said that their neighbours had the worst of the thefts, and have been struggling to sleep ever since.

They said: "It was elderly neighbours who got the worst of it. They’ve not been able to sleep properly and are on edge.

"They stole power tools from them."
